Below is a list of My Little Pony related terms used on this website and their meanings. If you can think of another term that you think should be up here please email us.
- MLP : An abbreviation of My Little Pony.
- Display side : The side a My Little Pony looks best from. Usually the opposite side from where the hair falls. Most of our photos are taken from the diplay side of a pony.
- Non-display side : The opposite of the above.
- Smooze : Brown dots that occasionally appear on a pony. To my knowledge there is no cure but it can be prevented through careful cleaning (and drying!) of the inside of a pony. The term comes from the My Little Pony movie where a big purple splotty thing attacks the ponies, makes them all grumpy and sticks to them.
- MOC : An abbreviation of "Mint on Card". This means that the pony or item has never been removed from its back card.
- MOMC : An abbreviation of "Mint on Mint Card". The same as above but also makes reference to the fact that the card is in excellent condition.
- MIB : An abbreviation of "Mint in Box". Meaning that the pony or item has never been removed from its original box.
- MIP : An abbreviation of "Mint in Packet". Meaning that the pony or item has never been removed from its original packet.
- SS : An abbreviation of "So Soft". An USA exclusive My Litle Pony covered in soft flocking.
- NSS : An abbreviation of "Non So Soft". An UK exclusive and flock-less variation of a pony also available as a So Soft.
- MM : An abbreviation of "Magic Message". Ponies with a heat sensitive symbol.
- BBE : An abbreviation of "Beddy-bye-eyed". Baby ponies with eyes that close when you lay them down.
- NBBE : An abbreviation of "Non Beddy-bye-eyed". Baby ponies with regular eyes that were also available as BBE.
- Generation 1 or G1 : A term given to the original and first My Little Ponies produced from around 1980 - 1992.
- Generation 2 or G2 : A term given to the second release of My Little Ponies produced from around 1997 - 2000.
- Generation 3 or G3 : A term given to the most recent release of My Little Ponies produced from 2003 onwards.
